Airline Product Ratings 2022 – Oceania

Ratings website airlineratings.com recently published an article on their findings on who is the world’s best airline. That award went to Qatar Airways – a client whom we have done work for in protecting their brand in Papua New Guinea. In announcing the ratings and awards, the online publication read:

The world’s Best Airlines for 2022 have been named by AirlineRatings.com, the world’s only safety, product, and COVID rating website, and the airline of the year is Qatar Airways.

The Doha-based airline nudged out Air New Zealand, Etihad Airways and Korean Air for the top spot in AirlineRatings.com Best Airlines for 2022 followed by Singapore Airlines, Qantas and Virgin Australia.

Qatar Airways is being honoured for its innovation, product, and industry leadership as well as its commitment to keeping the world’s critical long-haul air routes open during COVID-19 over the past 30 months which has resulted in the airline posting a record profit, despite losing money on many capped flights.

As curious as we always are about Papua New Guinea and generally the Pacific, we dug up some information on how the airlines within this region fared, particularly on their product ratings. Before we check the ratings of airlines, it’s important to have a fair idea on the criteria.

There are two main categories: Full Service and Regional. The former has a 7 star rating assessment while the latter has 5. In so far as the assessment for a 7 star is concerned, here is the criteria

3. Website Information
4. Beds
5. Meals
6. Blanket’s & Pillows
7. Editor’s Discretion
